A Songwriter’s Journey from the Classroom to the Stage

Some artists spend their whole lives chasing a dream, while others have it quietly growing inside them, waiting for the right moment to take center stage. For David Tribble, a former schoolteacher turned full-time musician, the transition from classroom to concert hall has been a long time coming. After 14 years in education, Tribble left behind his teaching career to fully embrace his passion for music, and it’s been paying off—his fourth studio album dropped in 2023, and he hasn’t looked back since.

“I revolve my live shows around the feel of the songs and the lyrics, so they hit home for the listener”

The Heart Behind the Music

Tribble’s music is steeped in authenticity and emotion, with lyrics that dig deep into the everyday highs and lows of life. His songwriting process is anything but formulaic—he describes himself as an organic songwriter, pulling inspiration from small, meaningful moments, his faith, and the love of his wife and two daughters. Whether it’s a fleeting thought or a life-changing event, he channels it all into his craft, making his music feel deeply personal yet universally relatable.

“The art of songwriting is something I genuinely love and try to do often,” Tribble shares. “I don’t write with a commercial mindset—I write for myself first. But I always hope that my songs connect with others.”

A Live Experience to Remember

Tribble’s performances reflect that same heartfelt sincerity. Whether playing solo or backed by his band, his live shows are centered around the emotions within the songs, drawing listeners in with raw, storytelling-driven lyrics and dynamic energy shifts. Fans can expect an intimate yet powerful experience when he takes the stage to open for Isaac Sloane & The Sound Brigade at Texas Music Cafe on March 15, 2025.

“I revolve my live shows around the feel of the songs and the lyrics, so they hit home for the listener,” he explains. “I’ll adjust the energy depending on the set—sometimes it’s stripped down and personal, other times the band brings a bigger, more dynamic feel.”

Memorable Moments and Looking Ahead

One of Tribble’s most unforgettable performances to date was opening for Josh Weathers at a sold-out show at Tannehill’s in Fort Worth. “We played all originals, and the crowd was incredible. It was one of those moments where everything clicked, and we had the best time,” he recalls.

As for what’s next? Tribble is focused on refining his sound and expanding his reach, with goals to collaborate with other artists and further develop his unique style. “I see my music evolving to be even more original and distinct while still being relatable across different genres,” he says.

While he admits he’s still figuring out the ever-changing landscape of social media and marketing, his focus remains on the music itself. “I’m learning to be more intentional with how I share my music, but at the end of the day, I just want to create songs that matter.”
